Syllabus:Flotation fundamentals - electrokinetics as applied to separation processes, surface adsorption and flotation reagents, mineral bubble interactions, flotation equipment, kinetics. Flotation of sulphides, non sulphides, coal flotation and agglomeration. Risk management.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An appreciation for the scope of mineral processing operations. A theoretical background for flotation separation processes.
