Syllabus:Specialised topics in the area of economic geology - ore forming systems, mineral geochemistry, ore geochemistry, techniques in mineral exploration, resource evaluation and metallogenesis.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Appreciated the controls exherted by plate tectonic setting with respect to both magmatic and tectonic processes. Understood the use of trace element geochemistry in defining plate tectonic setting. A sound appreciation of processes operative at convergent plate settings. Understood the controls on extension in continental environments.
