Syllabus:Introduction. Controllers. Instrument characteristics. Control loop hardware and troubleshooting (control valve). Temperature measurements. Pressure measurements. Flow measurements. Level measurements. Weight measurements. Selected online analysers. Computer interfacing.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have been introduced to measurement and instrumentation for main process variables including temperature, pressure, flow, level and weight, as well as selected on-line analyzers and computer interfacingfor process control systems.
