Syllabus:Introduction and historical background. Principles and techniques of quantitative and qualitative risk management. Application of risk management tools to the technological aspects of exploration and feasibility/planning, including case studies.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The ability to identify the level of risk assessment required under certain circumstances. An awareness of the limitations of risk assessment methods. Undertaken risk assessments, ranging from simple qualitative methods to relatively sophisticated quantitiative methods. Interpreted the results of risk assessments.
