Syllabus:Skills in finding, analysing and communicating information to underpin study and work in the fields of media, communication and information. Research, referencing, and annotation skills. Critical thinking and written arguments. Information analysis and presentation.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Demonstrated improved skills in using information technology (including the Internet) for the purposes of finding, managing, analysing and communicating information. Think critically about how to find and use information. Write essays and presentations which communicate effectively. Develop skills in collecting, collating and presenting data, with analytical conclusions. Understand how to select visual materials which will enhance the impact of your work. Develop the process of learning how to learn and research. Understand the need for research and how it fits into academic life.
