Syllabus:Strategic Procurement is designed to enable participants to develop a general appreciation of the Supply Chain as a strategic influence upon the management of a public or private sector organisation. The content of the unit will introduce the processes of procurement and their relationship to supply chain management and aims to develop strategic management skills relevant to the implementation of Supply Chain and Procurement concepts.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Understanding of the nature of procurement as a strategic organisation approach to managing the supply chain. Developed their management skills to equip them to plan, promote and implement the introduction of strategic procurement in a selected organisation. Evaluated techniques that require them to measure supply chain activities and issues affecting an organisations local and global operations and potential.
