Syllabus:The opportunity to evolve and recognise the personal concerns which will become central to their practice as they progress through the course and move into careers as independent artists/designers. It presents experience in working at jewellery and precious object making, aligning conceptual development with the learning of numerous traditional skills and processes associated with jewellery and metal-smithing and a range of other materials. In addition, students are encouraged to be innovative with theseskills and processes, expanding the traditional vocabulary and finding unique solutions to the problems posed by their creative ambitions.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Developed imaginative ideas based on interests, intentions and experiences for which the student is able to access primary sources. Demonstrated an appropriate level of judgement, imagination andcommitment in the progress of projects. Selected and developed imaginative ideas and strategies in the conceptualisation and resolution of projects. Used new skills in exploring and making jewellery and precious objects. selected appropriate skills, processes and materials and successfully integrated these with concepts. Demonstrated an appropriate level of documenting ideas and presenting them effectively.
