Syllabus:A broad introduction to the area of finance. Topics include - introduction and objective of financial management, Australian capital markets, sources of debt and equity finance, financial statement analysis, financial maths, investment decision - evaluation methods and cashflow determination, leasing, current asset management - inventory, accounts receivable and liquid assets.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- An understanding of basic financial concepts. Skills in the application of techniques that aid in financial decision making. A foundation for those intending to take further studies in the discipline.
