Syllabus:Social science and dentistry. Professional and personal development. Stress control, psychology of pain, communication and patient motivation, child and special patient management and the dental team.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate - An understanding of the importance of personal and interpersonal skills, in working effectively with both patients and colleagues. An understanding of psychological/behavioural science principles relevant to the provision of dental health services to a wide range of individuals. An ability to critically reflect on practice from an holistic perspective
Unit Assessment Breakdown: Assignment 30%, Attendance 10%, Case Study 20%, Final exam 25%, Test 15%. This is by grade/mark assessment.
