Topics of current interest - goals and instruments of macroeconomic policy, the theory of economy policy, Australia's recent economic performance, monetary policy, Australia in the world economy, productivity growth, health economics, national savings, economics of climate change, unemployment and the labour market..

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have- Understanding of the economic policy framework. Understanding of relevant economic policy issues concerning the Australian and world economies. Become able to analyse a range of topical economic problems and suggest policy prescriptions.
