Syllabus:	Ethical frameworks and their application to the bioethical dilemmas that confront health service managers and practitioners on a daily basis. Critical reflection on the application of bioethical principles to selected case studies. Perspectives on ways of understanding the status of moral disagreements and their implications for health service managers.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Enhanced ability for critical reflection evidenced by clarity of written expression and capacity to examine personal assumptions form different perspectives. Deep learning evidenced by capacity to examine a chosen topic in detail from several theoretical perspectives. Knowledge of and capacity to apply bioethical principles to management and practice dilemmas in health care delivery. Appreciation of the difference between moral and legal reasoning. Demonstrated knowledge of the limitations of the principle based approach to bioethics.
