| Syllabus: | Introduction to computer applications in mineral exploration, using Micromine and ArcView. Exploration drilling techniques and the logging of various drilling materials will also be taught through visits to active exploration and mining operations. Open pit mapping and underground mapping exercises. |

| Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have the abilities to produce digital maps and cross sections and use a geographic information syste be.familiar with exploration drilling techniques, core logging and mine mapping. |
