Syllabus:	Research in communication disorders and science. The conduct of a supervised research project and submission of a dissertation.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Demonstrate understanding of the implications and significance of different methodological, philosophical and meta-theoretical approaches to human communication science through discussions and oral presentations. Demonstrate familiarity with advanced research techniques of relevance to professional issues in human communication science through discussions and oral presentations. Demonstrate competence in the research process through appropriate critical review of an area in human communication science, formulation of an original research project culminating in the writing of a research proposal, the carrying out of the proposed research project to collect data for analysis and finally, the writing and submission of an Honours empirical thesis conforming to American Psychological Association format of presentation that is suitable for publication in a professional journal.
