Syllabus:Wills, trusts including uses and taxation treatment, power of attorney, distribution of assets of deceased estates including capital gains tax treatment of such assets, compliance and negligence.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Demonstrated estate planning as an essential part of the financial planning process. Identified and understood a number of important areas of estate planning including will planning, powers of attorney, rights of beneficiaries, trusts, distribution of net assets and the capital gains implications of the deceased estate, death aspects of financial products, family law and business succession planning. Awareness of a financial planner's ethical responsibility and duty of care to the client.
