Syllabus:Provides a basic understanding of the importance of the law and government policy in the media and information environments.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Understand the notions of government and governmentality, community and the information environment. Understand that policies, laws and regulations can enable and constrain our activities in the media and information environments, and as citizens. Understand that the regulatory framework may not always achieve what is claimed, or wanted. Appreciate the complexities of being a citizen. Evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of regulatoryframeworks.
