Syllabus:Relationship between mAs and density. kV and mAs rules. Film and intensifying screens. Scatter and grids. Geometrical factors effecting radiographic image. Radiographic positioning and terminology for the extremities.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit the student will familiarity with imaging principles in medical imaging, x-ray absorption in materials (eg. body tissues), exposure factors for imaging, characteristics of a diagnostic radiograph, various film and screen systems, radiographic processing and quality assurance and characteristics of radiographic film/screen combination.
