Syllabus:Decision making in viticulture with special reference to climates, soils, grape cultivars and root stocks. Vine physiology including bud initiation, fruit growth, fruit biochemistry, disease and pest management. Vineyard factors affecting wine quality.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have - Been introduced to new and advanced aspects of viticultural technology. Developed their research capacity in viticultural technology and developed a resource inventry in viticulture. Become familiarised with "on line" learning.
