Syllabus:Introduction to building services - principles, systems, space implications and regulations related to water supply, waste disposal, internal air quality, ventilation for smoke control and mechanical air conditioning. Methods of security surveillance and monitoring - overview of electrical requirements, lightning protection and mechanical equipment for vertical and horizontal transportation.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- A general understanding of principles, systems, space implications and regulations related to water supply and waste disposal. A general understanding of principles, systems, space implications and regulations related to internal air quality, ventilation for smoke control and mechanical air conditioning. An overview of electrical requirements. An overview of mechanical equipment for vertical and horizontal transportation.
