Syllabus:Cultural heritage of Australia. Australian and world mining heritage. Cultural heritage management. Aboriginal culture, history, identity and social issues. Interaction between Aboriginal communities and the mining industry. Geographic location and cross-cultural interaction. Native title, implications and events. Indo-Asia-Pacific economies, workforce, environment, national governments and the impact of mining.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have - Been made aware of the impact of mining on society and to the sensitivities of the cultures of Australian Aboriginies and the people of Indo - Asia - Pacific region.
