Syllabus:Development and education of students with the major types of disabilities, assessment, management, intervention and support strategies to achieve effective personal, social and academic outcomes, collaborative action with school, family and community members to optimise outcomes for students with disabilities.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Distinguished among students with the various medical and developmental types of disabilities, and understood the implications of the disabilities for teaching and learning. Implemented classroom assessment and management strategies which incorporate best practice for students with disabilities. Collaborated in strategies that incorporate home, school and community partners and resources for managing students with diverse disabilities.
