Syllabus:The capture, management and analysis of geographic data. Data sampling and measurement, descriptive and summative analysis, introduction to spatial analysis and interpolation. Applications and examples.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have - The ability to understand, manipulate and analyse geographic data and information within a range of applications, applied a range of spatial data measurement and sampling techniques, prepared, captured and integrated data within a geographic information system, Understood and appreciated methods and techniques for analysing geographic information and explore and analyse geographic information using spatial statistical analysis and GIS software.
