Syllabus:China study tour, business research project. Individual students will pursue an independent study project under the direction and supervision of a Curtin staff member. Rigorous and comprehensive by nature, the project incorporates an in-depth study of doing business in China, culminating in a two week study tour of Beijing and Shanghai. Provides opportunities to research, first hand, the business cultural norms of China.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Compared the salient cultural and demographic differences between Australia and China. Identified, analysed, compared and discussed in depth business enterprises, work practices, foreign trade, marketing or other selected topics. Appreciated the effects of cultural norms upon the success or otherwise of international business operating within China. Evaluated and interpreted observations through a research project. Presented research findings, major paper.
