Syllabus:Research methods, library search and literature reviews. Selection of an individual building related dissertation topic. Presentation of a comprehensive dissertation proposal, including appropriate research, bibliography, case studies and analysis.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The ability to consider the problem associated with the design of a research program, it's implementation and to relate this to a choice of Building Dissertation. Significantly progressed towardsthe completion of the Building Dissertation. An understanding of the types of data available from statistical and non-statistical sources, and the appropriateness of these two different types of research.
