Syllabus:Explores businesss issues relevant to the seafood, fisheries and aquaculture industries in Australia. Business planning skills within these industries are developed through the examination and implementation of analytical techniques associated with market research, management, and project evaluation and research techniques.
 
Unit Outcomes: Write a comprehensive business plan related to the aquaculture or seafood industry. Develop market research skills and perform related field work. Conduct a SWOT analysis. Apply Project Evaluation and Research Technique to a project On completion of thisunit students will have - Written a comprehensive business plan related to the aquaculture or seafood industry. Developed market research skills and performed related feild work. Conducted a SWOT analysis. Applied Project Evaluation and Research Technique to a project management scenario in aquaculture and seafood related industries. Examined processes, controls and regulations associated with the import, export and distribution of seafood products. Evaluated aspects of small business management as theyrelate to the local aquaculture industry. Developed skills required to prepare questionnaires for eliciting market research data for application in the seafood and aquaculture industries. Introduction to STEEP analysis as a pre- feasibility study tool. ; ;
