Syllabus:Development of a research investigation into a nursing research problem related to the student's area of clinical expertise. Student in consultation with supervisor and committee develops a conceptual framework, critical review of nursing and related literature and methodology for the study. The student must demonstrate potential to satisfactorily complete the proposed study.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated the ability to utilise the research literature to support an empirical investigation into a selected area of nursing. Demonstrated skills in the use of scientific standards and ethical principles for designing a nursing study/project. Developed a conceptual framework that provides the substantive and/or theoretical context for conducting a nursing study/project. Demonstrated the ability to analyse research methodologies for relevanceto the study of nursing problems.
