Syllabus:Study of underground and surface mine design methods and techniques. Review of computerised mine planning packages. Students should develop the ability to use DATAMINE and SURPAC software for mine design at the medium level. Focus on surveying modules ofmine design packages. Surface and underground mine design project.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Acquired a sound understanding of the surveying elements within various mine design packages. This also applies to the use and application of such packages.
