Syllabus:Implementation of computers and software into schools. Technology across the curriculum. Organisational issues. Models of implementation. Principles of the use of computers in the classroom, simulations, adventure games, problem solving, multimedia. Aspects of classroom management of computer facilities, students and technology teaching programs.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Used a constructivist approach to planning to use technology in a variety of teaching and learning environments. Used a variety of technologies in the different modes of technology used model - support, tutorial, link, resource, exploration and control. Planned, developed, and presented projects implementing technology into the classroom considering the Curriculum Framework, Student Outcome Statements/Progress Maps, teaching and learning strategies, resources, organisation and assessment procedures. Developed an awareness of the current research and issues in using technology in education. Utilised appropriate Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for given educational tasks. Developed a paper-based or electronic learning performance portfolio. Developed a webquest and related web pages. Used Powerpoint presentation software to accomplish an educational task. Used communications and productivity tools such as WEBTV, MS Explorer, MS Front page and MS Office. Applied theories of learning in the context of integrating technology into classroom activities. Experienced technology as a problem solving process.
