Syllabus:Aims to investigate design issues in the context of organisation. It introduces concepts, which deal with the organisation of the professional practice of design. In an increasingly complex world it is important that Designers are able to understand techniques of information gathering and project management, using group process skills.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Become familiar with a variety of organisational skills relating to the professional practice of design. Become able to recognise aspects of group dynamics and interpersonal relations, which impact on the practice of design. Become able to differentiate between hard and soft management skills. Become able to implement a Project Management approach to a design problem. Understanding of Management Systems. Become able to employ techniques which willhelp you to be an effective negotiator. Become an effective team member. Become able to gain feedback from users of design.
