Introduction
This course is designed for students seeking a career as a technical officer/technician, performing clinical laboratory procedures as an important member of a team providing pathology services.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
This course is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Course Organisation
The course commences with the study of units in chemistry, communication and selected topics in aspects of human biology and medical laboratory science. The second year of the course concentrates on individual units of laboratory disciplines. Students are expected to have completed all prescribed units in the year before proceeding to subsequent years. Under certain circumstances completion of this Associate Degree may permit entry to the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Science (Medical Science).
