Introduction
This course is designed specifically for graduates in discipline areas other than commerce, intending to establish businesses or who will be employed in a small or medium enterprise. It is appropriate for graduates in professional areas establishing a private practice, or joining an existing partnership as an employee. It is also open to applicants with extensive business experience intending to pursue tertiary studies in small business management. It develops managerial skills and focuses on the essential elements of small business management - the management and organisation of self, markets and customers, strategic issues, finance, business networks and support services and of human resources. A project unit allowing for practical application of the concepts in a small business environment, is an important component.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
An appropriate degree in an area other than commerce from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent, OR to have a minimum of three years relevant business experience at a middle or senior management level.

Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
