Consideration of - the demand for, and supply of labour in both competitive and non competitive labour markets, and incorporates the institutional framework in which the labour market operates. The unit also covers recent developments and controversies in labour economics, such as internal labour markets, insider and outsider theories, the exit voice model of trade unions, and discrimination in the labour market.
