A review of the principle geophysical methods for characterising oil and gas reservoirs. The aim of reservoir characterisation is to understand interwell heterogeneties so that hydrocarbon recovery can be improved. In this context improved means increased recovery at current oil and gas prices, rather than enhanced recovery which indicates greatly increased prices and the use of floods, surfactants.
