Embryology. Development, growth, eruption and exfoliation of teeth. Microscopic structure of the oral tissues. Saliva. Osteology, myology, angiology of the head and neck. Nervous system with emphasis on cranial nerves V, VII, IX and XII. Salivary glands. Pain perception and methods of control. Local anaesthetic agents - pharmacology, techniques of administration, complications and contra-indications.
