Introduction
This double degree provides a basis and appreciation of the scientific discipline of both economics and psychology, while laying a foundation for graduate studies in either professional application or research.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
None. TEE Applicable or Discrete Mathematics desirable.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
The course is five years full-time or equivalent part-time study. External study is available on a limited basis. Summer semester unit availability may shorten the course duration.

Course Organisation
Students enrolled in the double degree program may elect to transfer to a single degree course in one of the two disciplines. In this event the relevant Head of School shall determine the amount of credit to be transferred to the single degree.

Professional Recognition
At completion of the double degree the student will be eligible for Associate Professorial Membership to the Economics Society of Australia (Western Australia Branch) and associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society. Further training is necessary to gain full professional recognition and membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). In Western Australia a fourth year of study in psychology is required for provisional registration. Two years supervised psychological practice after fourth year enables a graduate to apply for registration as a psychologist.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
