Introduction
This course is designed for managers, human resource developers, consultants and professionals from any discipline intending to develop and expand their knowledge and personal and professional skills to develop people currently working in complex and changing organisational climates in Australia and overseas. It is also appropriate to new graduates intending to make Human Resource Development their career.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
This course is designed to allow entry at different stages, dependent upon the applicant's qualifications and relevant work experience. Applicants with extensive work experience, but without formal academic qualifications, may be admitted to either the Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Development or the Graduate Certificate in Facilitation. Successful completion of either of these awards can lead to admission into the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Development. Applicants with a degree in a discipline outside human resources, industrial relations or management, and with a minimum of two years appropriate experience, may be admitted to the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Development and later to this course. Applicants with a bachelors degree in human resources, industrial relations, management or related fields may be admitted directly to this course, but may wish to alternatively undertake the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Development, as preparation for future study in this course.;;

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
This fee paying course is one and a half years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Human Resouce Development, Graduate Certificate in Facilitation or the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Development may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under the General Information section in the Curtin Courses Handbook.

Course Organisation
Units covered provide a theoretical basis as well as practical application of the fields covered. Teaching processes will vary according to content and objectives of each unit. A variety of assessment procedures have been developed across units to further enhance the application of knowledge and skills. Emphasis is being placed on assessment focussing on practical application of the course content.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
