Introduction
This course provides skills and knowledge, and an understanding of the growth, uses and future development and application of the Internet, as well as specific education in aspects of Internet use or development for information dissemination and design, communication and community-building, policy development, and advanced research skills. It is designed to complement and extend existing knowledge, combining a general qualification with more specific educational opportunities to learn in a way that best suits existing needs and priorities. Creative overlap between current employment and study is emphasised.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A bachelors degree with an appropriate level of achievement in any field from a recognised tertiary education institution. Students unable to enrol directly into the Masters program may gain entry through enrolment in the Graduate Diploma in Internet Studies and successful completion of specified units in that course.

Specific Requirements
Students are required to have and maintain reliable Internet access.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Credit may be awarded for prior learning and demonstrated existing skills.

Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is three semesters full-time study or equivalent part-time through flexible delivery using Internet technologies.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study. Students may incur a costfor personal Internet access.
