Introduction
This course is designed for those intending to increase expertise in a specialist area of general or international management.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, and a minimum of three years professional experience. Applicants may be admitted with qualifications in disciplines other than business, but should, in that case, be prepared to undertake additional units at graduate level to provide them with a broad foundation in commerce. Applicants with a relevant upper second class honours degree or above may request acceptance directly into the second half of the program.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
The course is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Management) may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awardssection under General Information.

Course Organisation
Applicants with a non business background may be required to undertake additional units. Those with a relevant upper second class honours degree or above may request acceptance directly into the second half of the program. The selection of units in thefinal half of the course varies according to the length of the research project undertaken, with students guided by the Course Coordinator to ensure suitable choice. In all cases, appropriate research preparation units must be undertaken before the research project.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.

Special Note
On completion of the first half of the program, those who have not maintained a course weighted average of 70 per cent will be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Management) and be excluded from further study in the masters program.
