Introduction
This course is designed to provide students with the educational qualification component that forms part of the requirements for registration as architects and for membership of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A Bachelor of Applied Science (Architectural Science) with a semester weighted average (SWA) of 60 per cent or better in the last two semesters of study, or an equivalent qualification.

Specific Requirements
Non-TEE students are advised to contact the school to arrange an interview where they may be required to present a folio. STAT elements considered are E and V and Q.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
Full-time study for two years in addition to the three year Bachelor of Applied Science (Architectural Science) degree. The full course of study leading to a professional degree in architecture will, therefore, be five years or equivalent part-time study.

Professional Recognition
This course is recognised by the Architects' Board of Western Australia as the academic component of requirements for establishing eligibility to be registered as an architect in Western Australia. The Board requires, in addition to the degree, completion of approved postgraduate practical experience and the passing of a Board examination in architectural practice. The Board is a statutory authority established under the Architects Act of Western Australia. The course is recognised by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects for associate membership on completion of approved postgraduate practical experience. It is also recognised by the Commonwealth Association of Architects.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.

Special Note
On completion of the course a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours will be awarded in the following classes depending on course weighted averages. First Class 80 or more, Upper Second Class 75 to 79.9, Lower Second Class 70 to 74.9, Pass 50 to 69.9.
