Syllabus: Definitions and scope in public health nutrition practice. Role of public health nutrition primary healthcare. Overview of healthcare system with particular reference to Australia. Conducting needs assessment, identification of priorities, project planning, implementation strategies evaluation techniques for public health nutrition projects. Ecological perspective for selecting Interventions. Effective programs for nutrition priority areas; good nutrition for vulnerable groups with reference to Aboriginal nutrition obesity and fruit and vegetable promotion. Food and nutrition policy. Implementing the dietary guidelines for Australians Future directions for public health nutrition.
