Syllabus: Students undertake a significant Mechatronic research project that either develops new knowledge or addresses an engineering problem of interest, applying mechatronic tools and technologies. Students are free to choose from a range of projects offered by the faculty members as well as by external partners. In this unit students will: carry out and complete the research project planned and commenced in Mechatronic Engineering Research Project 1. Project involves the application of engineering research methodologies, including analytical, numerical or experimental investigation or design, carried out over a period of one year. The students submit their project work in the form of an undergraduate thesis at the end of 2 consecutive semesters, and deliver their research findings in an oral form to their peers and staff in a project research seminar.
