Course Overview

Bachelor Double Degrees prepare students to develop broad and coherent knowledge and skills in more than one discipline for professional work and further learning corresponding to AQF level 7 qualifications.


Students choosing this double degree can combine a Bachelor of Engineering together with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Management, Economics, Finance or Accounting. This double degree course is designed to prepare students who graduate as engineers with an excellent background in commerce which may broaden their future opportunities as engineering managers in their respective organisations in either public or private sectors.The program equips graduates with a comprehensive technical foundation together with business knowledge and skills in areas that are relevant and widely interrelated with engineering. The combination of the two degrees can provide graduates with the versatility to seek wider opportunities in the developing engineering industry.

Course Entry and Completion Details

Applicants for a Bachelor Double Degree are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://futurestudents.curtin.edu.au and include flexible entry pathways. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.


Specifically, applicants require TEE Applicable Mathematics plus at least any two of TEE Calculus, Chemistry and Physics. OR at least three out of the following four: Mathematics 3C/3D, Mathematics: Specialist 3C/3D, Physics 3A/3B and Chemistry 3A/3B. Engineering Studies 3A/3B is desirable STAT is not accepted for mature age entry but may be used to demonstrate English Competence requirements.


Credit for Recognised Learning

Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Pathway to Further Study

Graduates may qualify for entry to a Bachelor Degree with Honours and some Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas and Master degrees. For further details, see the University website http://curtin.edu.au.



Course Organisation

Bachelor Double Degrees include a combined degree study program leading to two awards. The duration of the double degree may vary among disciplines, but typically requires less time to complete than if the two undergraduate degrees were studied separately.
