This major combines units from major international and other related disciplines. The major provides sufficient flexibility for students to combine business studies with language and cultural studies. With the globalisation of business, graduates will require an international orientation and the major has been carefully designed to meet that need.

Major/Stream Learning Outcomes

A graduate of this course can:

1. apply knowledge, principles and concepts to understand and appreciate management issues and challenges in conducting business globally (especially in the Asia Pacific region)

2. think critically, creatively and reflectively to manage effectively in international environment and cross-cultural situation

3. access, evaluate and synthesise information from relevant sources to effectively manage international operations

4. communicate in ways appropriate to the management discipline for cross-cultural audiences and contexts

5. use and apply technologies, recognising their advantages and limitations when applied to managing internationally

6. take responsibility for their own learning by demonstrating initiative in finding new information and actively participating in varied learning experiences

7. think globally and consider management issues from a variety of perspectives

8. actively support the value of cultural diversity in improving business and professional practice

9. demonstrate leadership, ethical practice and professional integrity when working within a cross-cultural team and independently
