Courses Handbook 2015

This handbook contains information on courses and components (majors, minors, streams and units) at Curtin in 2015.
Information for the previous year's courses and units is available at Courses Handbook 2014.

MJRU-ELPWE v.1 Electrical Power Engineering Major (BEng Hons)

Major/Stream Overview

This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information.

There is hardly any aspect of modern civilisation that is not dependent upon electrical energy. We use this for heating, cooling, lighting, transportation, manufacturing and production, minerals processing to name just a few areas of application. Electrical power engineering considers these applications of electrical energy, together with its generation, transmission and distribution, as well as the harnessing of sources of renewable and sustainable energy.
