Course Overview

Master degrees (coursework) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for professional practice, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.


This MBA (Global) is designed for business in the new Millennium. Students work in concert with industry professionals and University lecturers with extensive research and industry knowledge. This degree is designed to assist students who wish to aspire into senior/executive positions within the work force or to commence their own businesses. The program incorporates work integrated learning, working in diverse teams, learning independently and undertaking a professional project involving business placements, industry mentorships and global field trips which will incur an additional cost to the student. Professional Project 650 consists of four streams. Additional costs may be incurred depending on the stream chosen.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks and other essential study materials.



Course Entry and Completion Details

Applicants are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://futurestudents.curtin.edu.au. Subject to the duration of the course applicants usually require a bachelor degree or equivalent (and may require relevant work experience), bachelor honours degree, graduate certificate or graduate diploma.


Specifically, applicants require a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a course weighted average of 60% or greater.


Credit for Recognised Learning

Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Credit for Recognised Learning

Applicants with a recognised undergraduate degree may be eligible for a maximum of 100 credits of Credit for Recognised Learning.


Pathway to Further Study

Course Organisation

Master degrees (coursework) contain a series of units in a specialised area of study which may include compulsory (core), optional or elective units to cater for student preferences. They may also contain a range of majors/streams for students to choose from.


Course Learning Outcomes

A graduate of this course can:

1. apply appropriate practices, principles and concepts to evaluate and resolve current and emerging trends in business management and practices

2. think critically, creatively and innovatively

3. access and synthesise information from multiple sources to make sound judgements

4. communicate in ways appropriate to the discipline, audience and purpose

5. use and apply technologies in ways that are beneficial to the workplace

6. develop an understanding of and reflectively apply different learning and development strategies

7. create new approaches of looking at global business issues

8. demonstrate ways of using cultural diversity to improve self- awareness, business, professional and ethical practice

9. critique and reconceptualise the roles of leadership, ethical practice and professional integrity when working within a team and independently


Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is two years full time or, equivalent part time study. International students studying in Australia on a student visa can only study full-time.
