Syllabus: Sociology of work organisations and industry. Interrelationships of work and leisure. Technological change and organisational response, changing work patterns, unemployment and social dislocation. The social effects of the division of labour. Communication, conflict and control within organisations. The effects of education on work behaviour. Work role allocation in capitalist and non-capitalist societies.
