Prerequisite(s): 308775 (v.1) Engineering Electromagnetics 201 or any previous version
Syllabus: Time varying fields and Maxwell's equations. Plane wave propagation: reflection and transmission, normal and oblique incidence, lossless and lossy media. Guided waves: transmission lines, metal hollow waveguides and optical fibres. Radiation and antennas: electric and magnetic dipoles, practical antennas, antenna characteristics, antenna arrays, Friis equation and the Radar equation. Propagation mechanisms in mobile radio environments.
