Syllabus: The nature of communication and the role of culture and cross-cultural issues in regulating communication patterns and behaviour. Topics include the principles of communication, communicative competence, impression formation and management, and miscommunication. This unit offers an insight into the effect of intercultural and intracultural issues on communication.
