Introduction

The Advanced Practice Nursing Stream (Master of Nursing) aims to prepare registered nurses to function at an advanced practice level within the health care institutions and community of Singapore. To facilitate advanced nursing practice role development, the curriculum includes didactic, problem based learning opportunities, overseeing dynamic changes to practice, professional accountability; clinical leadership; evidence-based practice; critical thinking; diagnostic reasoning; clinical decision making and the quality use of medicines. Integral to, and incorporated throughout the curriculum, is the concept of cultural security. As a clinically proficient and professionally articulate practitioner, graduates will be prepared to make a mark on the profession and on health care.
