Introduction

The Major in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is of value to students expecting to work in the field of Teaching English as Second Language (TESL), Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), or in other areas dealing with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds in Australia or the Asia-Pacific region. To successfully complete this major, students are required to complete nine core units and three optional units. At least two of the optional units should be language units in one language.
