Introduction

This double degree major is designed to provide the theoretical foundations and techniques of sports administration and law together with practical business applications. Students study a broad range of national and international sports organisations atboth amateur, professional and Olympic levels, emphasising sponsorship, employment, safety and crowd control, get-up, venue selection and administration. International visa and travel requirements are also examined. Graduates find employment in both the public and private sectors. Public sector employers are the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation, the Education Department and Local Government authorities. Private sector employers include large sports organisations and clubs. Graduates may also seek employment as managers of sports players and professional bodies.
